Chapter 1224 – 1125: Storm Over The Capital
Chapter 1224 - 1125: Storm Over The Capital
Damon remained silent.
His hands were shaking.
He knew only one thing that could cause something like this.
One thing that would hurt her in exchange for something else.
Knowledge.
Sylvia had always possessed an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
And the Unknown God had given her a book containing infinite knowledge.
All she had to do was ask.
But in exchange for that knowledge, she had to pay the price.
The Unknown God’s Tome.
Damon’s eyes widened.
"Sylvia... where are you?"
The moment he said those words, a vast shadow suddenly swept across the capital.
Damon looked up.

A massive cloud had appeared above the city, spreading across the sky and blocking out the sunlight.
For a brief moment, the entire capital fell strangely quiet.
Then alarms began to blare.
Warning bells echoed throughout the streets as the city’s magical barrier activated, a vast dome of energy spreading across the capital.
People screamed.
Knights rushed into the streets.
Damon’s expression changed completely.
Then a terrified voice echoed from somewhere below.
"Dragon!!!!"
Wide were the clouds, dark enough to make it seem as though night had descended upon the capital. The capital city was a great behemoth built across many, many miles. In every sense, it was a great city, filled with towering structures and enormous spires that seemed to brush against the sky.
And still, this vast shadow covered the entire city.
A true behemoth made of dark clouds and flashing sparks of lightning moved above them. Thunderous rumbles echoed all around as the enormous form within the storm shifted. A massive head emerged from the clouds, followed by enormous wings that stirred the heavens with every movement.
Damon remembered that vast and deadly form.
He remembered the seas of lightning it had once spat across the ocean and the giant ships it had crushed simply by passing over them.
Even in this weakened state, he knew exactly what it was.
The Great Cloud Dragon, Aethergon.
A living disaster.
Below, the streets of the capital were filled with chaos. Families ran through the streets, desperately searching for shelter and hoping to reach whatever safe place they could find. Troops rushed into position, taking up battle stations as the city’s magical barrier expanded into a massive dome that covered the capital.
Everyone expected the dragon to attack.
But it didn’t.
Instead, the storm slowly began to shrink.
The dark clouds contracted, lightning flashing through them as the dragon’s enormous form gradually became smaller and smaller. Damon watched with narrowed eyes as the massive creature descended, eventually becoming only several times the size of an airship.
Then he saw them.
Two women wearing armor were standing on the dragon’s head.
Damon’s mouth fell open.
"Huh? How is this possible? People riding a Great Dragon?" Kadelas muttered, staring at the impossible sight before him.
His eyes widened as he struggled to comprehend what he was seeing.
"Sylvia..." Daphne whispered.
Damon stared at the two figures.
Then he recognized the second woman.
"And Leona."
He grabbed his hair with both hands, his expression twisting in disbelief.
"I can’t believe they beat me to riding a Great Dragon."
The barrier still obstructed the dragon, and clearly, the capital’s mages had no intention of removing it.
However, that was when the white-haired woman wearing silver armor stepped forward on the dragon’s head.
It looked as though she was stepping on dark clouds shaped like a dragon. She then raised her hand.
A single rune formed from her Lunar magical attribute and landed on the barrier.
Just like that, a distortion appeared on the barrier, and the dragon effortlessly passed through it as if it did not exist.
The knights obviously wouldn’t let that happen. They immediately began charging up magical attacks to defend the capital.
That was when Sylvia’s voice echoed across the city.
"People of Valtheron, stand down. I am not your enemy, and neither is Aethergon. We come in peace."
As she said that, the dragon flew toward where Damon was, and both Sylvia and Leona jumped down toward the balcony while Aethergon dove toward the ground and shrank even further, eventually landing on a patch of grass outside.
The balcony shook when the two women landed.
When Daphne saw Sylvia for the first time in seven years, she saw her daughter smile.
And her eyes and her smile were only for Damon.
Then Sylvia glanced at her mother and father.
"I’m here as promised."
"Whoa, what an entrance. I could feel you guys farming aura into us from all the way here. Now, I have no idea what aura farming technique this is, but I want my own dragon."
Leona smiled and shook her head.
"Oh, Damon, you really don’t change. I’m glad you’re still the same as always, even if you look like a woman now... After all, if you weren’t, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy this."
"Enjoy what? And how did you know it was me?" He tilted his head.
Leona smirked.
"This."
Her aura was unleashed.
In an instant, the world was covered in dark clouds and flashing lightning as far as the eye could see.
Damon looked over the edge of the balcony.
"No... no way. You reached the Seventh Class too... before me. How? How have I been slacking off? No... wait. Congratulations. I’m happy for you."
"You look like you’re about to cry," Leona said, pointing at his green face.
"These are tears of joy..."
"Yeah, right. Don’t worry, Mommy Leona won’t gloat at you forever. Only until you break through..." She smiled at him with a teasing expression.
"Mommy Leona, you’re the best. I can’t wait to ask you to smite my enemies with our newfound power."
"Our newfound power?" She tilted her head.
Damon smiled and shamelessly pinched his nose.
"Of course, bestie."
"What happened to your body?" Leona asked him.
"That’s why we are here," Sylvia answered coldly. "To get it back."
Damon was moved to tears.
"Sylvia!"
He jumped forward and hugged her.
"I woveeee you!"
